Endometrial Ablation

Endometrial Ablation is the surgical destruction of the endometrial uterine layer. Ablation may be done using heat, freezing, laser or electrosurgical methods. It is a type of treatment for abnormal uterine bleeding due to benign conditions. Prior to the procedure testing may include hysteroscopy, ultrasound, and endometrial biopsy. Thermal ablation may be done comfortably in our office with a paracervical block.

Colposcopy

Colposcopy may be needed if your pap smear is found to be abnormal. It is an exam done of the cervix using a magnifying device. Cervical biopsies may be taken during this exam to determine if cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is found.

Depending on your biopsy results, a Leep procedure may be recommended.

Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)

Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) uses a low voltage electrical current to remove abnormal tissues of the cervix, previously identified by colposcopy and/or biopsy of the cervix. LEEP is an in-office procedure using local anesthetic cervical block.
