Dr. Beenken is an Iowa native. After graduating from Forest City High School she completed undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Biology at Simpson College in 2007. She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in 2011.

She completed her residency at Beaumont Hospital in metro Detroit, affiliated with Michigan State University, in June 2015. Dr. Beenken is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Beenken continues to be involved with the Simpson Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Chapter and their philanthropies. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, cycling, cooking and traveling to new places.
