An evaluation of infertility may include an exam, laboratory tests, semen analysis, and radiological studies to determine why you and your partner have not become pregnant. If you are scheduled for an infertility evaluation please contact your insurance to determine your coverage as these services and treatment may not covered by insurance.
Female causes of infertility can include irregular or lack of ovulation, scarring or blockage of the fallopian tubes and problems with the thyroid or pituitary glands. There are also times when no cause is determined.
Treatment of infertility depends on the cause. Lifestyle changes, medication and surgery may be recommended. Depending on your diagnosis you may be referred to a Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility specialist.
